sample_values
Shows a handful of real values from one column.
Works in read modeTool sets: query · full
You might ask
“What values does the status column actually hold?”
Your assistant may call sample_values to answer.
How it works
- Runs a small read-only SELECT on the column, so the assistant can match your wording to real values (
'shipped', not'Shipped'). - Masking applies: sampling an email column returns
<redacted>.
Parameters
columnstringrequired- Column of `table` to sample values from.
tablestringrequired- Table or view as "schema.name" (e.g. "public.orders"); a bare name is resolved if unambiguous.
What your assistant reads

Retrieve a list of sample values from a specific table column to inspect its contents. Only works on read-only SELECT queries.
